Welcome to The Bombay Spice Indian and Bangladeshi Takeaway.
Our name is taken from the city of Bombay which changed its name to Mumbai in 1995 and is the chief port of Maharashtra state, India.
Bombay was built on several islands and reclaimed land and is the only deep water harbour of West India. It was founded in the 13th century and was at one time the headquarters of the British East India Co. It now handles a great deal of India’s trade, particularly textiles. Other major activities include tanning, engineering, banking & exportation of cotton. Bombay indeed has a much greater population than the whole of Scotland.
